TEO Product of the Month: TEO is requesting donations of canned vegetables.
Religious Education: All registration forms for children in grades 1-8 should now be complete. Any registration form received after the June 15th deadline should include a $25.00 late fee.
Summer Session 2: August 9-13 Grades 3-5
Session 3: August 16-20 Grades 6-8
We are in need of teachers for Summer and Fall Religious Education classes. The only classes that will take place are those that have two teachers assigned. Please consider sharing your faith with the children of our parish. They need you! Families registering their children after the June 15 deadline are only guaranteed a class on a space available basis. See the bulletin insert for updated class availability. Children who are not placed into a class will need to be Home Schooled for the 2010-2011 year.
Safety Awareness: As part of our continuing focus on safety, we will periodically offer some safety tips to help keep our children safe. Teach your children to protect themselves when home alone. Never answer the door if alone. Don’t tell anyone on the phone that your parents are not home. Tell them your parents can’t come to the phone and take a message. Stay safe!
The Respect Life Committee would like to thank ALL who contributed to this year's
SOS - Support our Seminarian: Our youth ministry is collecting loose change to support a member of our parish who is studying for the priesthood, Kevin Hausherr. There is a container at the main entrance to the church for all your donations. Money collected this summer will be used to help defray the cost of Kevin’s text books. This is a visible way of supporting him in addition to our prayers. Please keep Kevin and all the seminarians in your prayers.
St. Anthony’s Bazaar: St. Anthony’s Church in Shirley will be having their annual bazaar on Friday & Saturday, August 6th & 7th from to (rain dates August 13th & 14th). Lobsters, clams, corn on the cob and seafood chowder will be served rain or shine on Friday, August 6th. A chicken barbecue dinner and chili will be served on Saturday night. Hamburgers, hot dogs, french fries, sausages, fried dough and drinks will be available both nights. There will be children’s games and fun for everyone. Bring family and friends for two fun-packed evenings.
Weekly Reflection: Have you ever been resentful that others were not working as hard as you? It is not uncommon to feel that other people should be doing something you feel is more important than what they appear to be doing. Consider the result of this kind of attitude. You end up frustrated and resentful and the task you are doing also suffers from your distraction. We are not in charge of deciding what others should do. Our concern needs to be on what we are called to do. Keeping our focus where it belongs will give us a peaceful spirit and help us do our task well.
He who…slanders not with his tongue…
nor takes up reproach
against his neighbor…
shall never be disturbed.
